Description
Tasting Notes
A classic light salmon color indicative of subtlety and nuance. Elegant aromas of watermelon, strawberry, raspberry and minerals are most expressive when the wine is nicely chilled. The wine is perfect on a warm summer evening or at the dinner table. Drink now or within the next 2-3 years.
Winemaking
The 100% Pinot noir grapes were harvested in the early, cool morning, destemmed and left on the skins for about 3 hours and then lightly pressed into a stainless steel barrel for fermentation. Crisp acidity was maintained as the wine did not complete malolactic fermentation. The wine was left on the lees until ready for bottling.
Anderson Valley AVA
The Anderson Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA) is located in the western part of Mendocino County in California near the Pacific Ocean. The Anderson Valley AVA is characterized by warm days and very cool evenings that produce an overall cool average temperature. These conditions make the Anderson Valley ideal for production of cool weather varietals, such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.
